Principal photography has wrapped on Viridescent, a short film and passion project produced by and starring John Wells. The film, a story of a lamenting artist, struggling to rediscover his inspiration after the heartbreaking loss of his lover and muse, is an emotionally gripping and visually avant-garde suspense, and Wells' first time acting as producer. The project reunites Wells with friends and costars, Al Snow and Sebrina Scott, under the direction of Troy H. King. Viridescent is projected to premiere this summer, and is expected to have a busy run in the film festival circuit.

Wells to be Honored with State Award for Contributions to Film

On October 8th, John Wells will be a Special Guest at a signature red carpet event hosted by The Lexington Fashion Collaborative, to be presented with the Médaille d'Or Award for achievement in Film by a Kentucky resident at the beautiful Kentucky Theater to give public recognition of his contributions in film for the State of Kentucky.

The award will be presented by Ms. Mona Juett, (Active) Kentucky State Commissioner of Film and Travel & Tourism.

The night's event, which is sponsored by Dillard's, is also a first regional screening for 'Dior and I', a film released in April 2015 at the famed Tribeca Film Festival, and featured in the New York Times Magazine.

This is a LFC signature event with notable Kentucky fashion and screen personalities to be in attendance. The event will be highly photographed in red carpet style, publicized via media and conclude with an after-party at a local downtown establishment.

The long awaited independent fantasy film,

Next up, The Rangers heads to GENCON in Indianapolis, one of the nation's largest gaming conventions. Finally, The Rangers has been accepted to screen as a part of the Fantasmagorical Film Festival at Fandom Fest, (one of the region's largest comic and pop culture expos) in Louisville, KY. Louisville is the hometown of cast members, John Wells, Sebrina Scott, and Dale Miller, who will be present for the show on Saturday, August 8 at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Wells has officially been cast as a Principal Lead in Swedish director, Titus Paar's, new Dark Fantasy Epic, LEGEND OF DARK RIDER.  Wells will be playing Tezzin, the leader of The Hawks, a band of thieves rebelling against an evil king. Dark Rider, an epic feature film in the vain of Game of Thrones, 300, and Conan the Barbarian, will shoot in the snowy mountains of Sweden early 2016.
